Saturday morning, we walked the Granite Creek Trail for the first time since it was revitalized. We started at the A. C. Williams Granite Creek Park and walked the mostly shady trail to Leroux Street before returning. The Santa Fe, Prescott & Phoenix Bridge No. 92 reminds us of this railroad’s importance from 1893-1984.
The Granite Creek Mural Project located north of the Gurley Street underpass is the largest single continuous mural by an individual (Dana Cohn) in Arizona. It integrates art and the environment. By the way, the street underpasses are now paved. There are other murals, including at the Prescott Mile High Middle School.
The Air Village offers ten 34-foot Avion trailers for rent only one block off the Yavapai Courthouse Plaza.
Flowers in bloom included hollyhock, Missouri gourd, perennial peas, and red poppies. An enjoyable 2.25-mile hike before the temperature rose to the mid-80s.
