Last night I attended a Six String Concert at the Columbus Performing Arts Center. Dan Frechette, a young, 28, composer of some 1,300 songs, led off playing guitar and harmonica. The main attrraction was Christine Lavin. I really like her voice and, of course, she was hilarious. She invited Dan Green and Paul McDonald to perform, too. She also called an 87-year-old lyricist friend and performed one of his songs for him. He, in turn, shared some recent work including words written earlier in the afternoon. Lavin closed the show with some amazing baton-twirling. What fun.
